"Box of Dreams" was recorded at Capstone Studios in Brentwood, Tennessee for Riely's first album
Workin' on a Memory which is available for sale at
cdbaby.
There's a box of dreams in a Goodwill Store
Down in Nashville town behind the entrance door
Ya' know I touched a few but then I left them alone
I bought a nice old hat and then I drove back home
It's a good-sized bin-the kind the mail comes in
Full of demo tapes from the A&R men
A thousand unheard songs from a hundred drawers
Make their way down here from the hit song wars
They were made with love and they were sent with hope
But they never get played by the inside folks
So they drift along and they join their friends
At the second-hand store in the demo bin
There's a billion stars in a galaxy
Far away from here in the cosmic sea
An' I guess those stars are just a-burnin' fine
Even though we can't ever see 'em shine
There's a box of dreams in a Goodwill Store
Down in Nashville town behind the entrance door
Oh I touched a few but then I left them alone
I bought a nice old hat and then I drove back home
